Peter Vigil and the All-Star Band is a New Mexico based performing group that is recognized for unique and crowd pleasing sounds that only Peter Vigil can create! This band is versatile and dynamic with a large variety of cover and original songs. Peter is famous for taking requests and bringing back music that hasn't been heard for decades. Get to Know Peter Vigil
The climb to become one of the most recognized names in New Mexico Music comes with a price. It takes a lot of work, dedication and in this case, many years in the business.
Like many Artists Peter began his music career at a young age.
He began playing guitar with his father’s band at the age of seven and would play at the VFW in Santa Fe. He also participated in the church choir along with his parents and two brothers. He joined a jazz group in high school and with all this experience it led to starting his own group called “Los Hermanos” and yes, his brother was a member. The group became successful and started performing throughout the state. The group was known for the recordings “Recuerdos” and “Polka Priscilla” dedicated to his mother. Some of the songs recorded by Los Hermanos were submitted for consideration to the New Mexico Hispano Music association awards show. As fate would have it, the entries received a total of three nominations resulting in “Augustine Jaime” receiving “Corrido song of the year”.
In 2018 Peter began his solo career and soon formed “Peter Vigil and the All-Star Band”. Peter has high standards and holds true to his standards. He surrounds himself with the greatest musicians so “the All-Star band” perfectly fits the name for his band. Peter hit the ground running with this new band quickly getting into the studio to record.
His music has been well received by New Mexicans. One of his first releases was a remake of the cumbia “Tita” and managed to stay in the top fifteen on the charts of KANW for ten weeks. "Tu VestidoBlanco” was another popular release that managed to stay in the top fifteen charts at KANW nineteen weeks. Several other releases have found their way to top charts at radio stations throughout New Mexico and surrounding states.
Along with these accomplishments Peter’s high point happened when he was invited to the very prestigious “Tejano Music Fanfare” in San Antonio Texas in 2021. Out of 2000 entries “Peter Vigil and the All-star band was one of 250 bands selected to perform.
Peter has made a great impact in the New Mexico Music scene. There is much more to come, so keep your eyes on this rising star and watch him reach the top.
